The Herd is a student-led initiative created by university students in Ontario. We rely on volunteers from across the province who help with the management of our social media pages and peer review process.

We are accepting all forms of work - be it visual, written, musical etc. We are really hoping to see and showcase creative depictions of how 2020 has changed you. Tap into your creativity and we look forward to seeing what you send in!

Yes! Each submission gets reviewed by our team of editors so if you wish to submit more than one piece you are free to do so and they will be reviewed separately. If you also wish to send in a series of creations you may upload more than one file when submitting, but please outline the order in which you wish to have them viewed.

We will be running an Artist Compensation Program for our Volume 3 publication. Click here to learn more

The Herd Archive is a great place for students who want their voices and work to be heard in a time where social connecting is limited. As one of the only student publications to offer peer review, you will get first hand feedback on your work. The Herd also is a great opportunity to have your creations viewed by more people through our website and social media platforms!

As a creator, you always maintain ownership of your work. The only permissions we require you to grant are for us to feature your work on our website and social media pages (you will always be given credit where your work is featured!).

No! We do not collect any publication fees.

Your work will be published for virtual viewing on our website (www.theherdarchive.com). We may also choose to feature your work on our social media pages (@theherdarchive on Instagram/Facebook). Featured work will always be credited to the creator.

Names are chosen using a random name generator!
